This week, Amy is focusing on Contrasts. She tells us that in photography, contrasts can include different ranges of tones, colors, subjects, and areas of light and shadow–to name a few. So this is my take on the subject.
I thought this would be an easy challenge, but it took me a while to figure out which way to approach this.
Shapes

Color
This colorful photo was taken at a YarnivalThese hardware parts looked like robot eyesThe blue sky really sets off the shape of this plant.

Quirky contrasts

That is all for today’s photographic journey through my images in contrast. What did you find captivating?
This week Ann-Christine from To see the world in a grain of sand… thought we would reuse an old theme – On Display. And it could almost be about anything… from a shoe shop to a garden party.
This time many of my displays relate to food. When I first started to refine my photography I enjoyed my trips to the local Farmer’s Markets in Sacramento. My banner photograph was taken at Zabar’s in New York City. I just want to remember all the yummy foods I found there.
Mushrooms to eat and for sale
On many a morning I walk out to my backyard, and I find mushrooms. I just hope I find them before my Moxie does. Fungi are not easy to identify.
Mushroom Gills
So many kinds, but be careful which ones you consume.

Patti creates a new challenge for me, “This week the Lens-Artists are heading in a new direction. We’re exploring “the edges.” What have I captured “On the Edge” of buildings, cliffs, rivers, and beaches. I interpreted this challenge in a straigtforward way.

Glad you stopped by. Any thing catch you attention? Let me know. I love to hear from you.
What is your go-to activity (or activities) that allows you to recharge your batteries? Is it in nature or in the city, alone or with friends and family, reading a book? This week Egidio from Through Brazilian Eyes created this challenge for me.
Taking photographs is my go-to for recharging.
Rewatching some of my favorite films helps get me out of the mood.
Being near the ocean
Reading a book
Eating ice cream
Well after my last post, I needed to recharge. Or maybe reboot. What did I do? I spent a lot of time with my Golden Retriever, Moxie. We went to the dog park and met up with some dog friends. Moxie spent the entire time retrieving “the” ball she had selected. At home, Moxie and I spent time grooming and massaging her.
Then, I realized that I needed more than a reboot. I needed to rest and fight a cough and cold. So I will select one of my ways to recharge.

There is nothing like some sweet, creamy cold ice cream to make you feel better! Don’t you agree? What’s your favorite flavor?
