Anne from Slow Shutter Speed challenges me to think about the weather conditions in which we photographers find ourselves pursuing our hobby or vocation.

My cover photo of leaves forming a heart shape is a nod to Valentine’s Day. It was taken on the lake formed in front of my house one winter day.

Charlie was my Australian Labradoodle’s first and only trip to the snow. He enjoyed it thoroughly. I still have some time left this winter to let Moxie experience snow.

Northern California sometimes has more than enough rain at one time. At that time I grab a camera and document. My last house was the low point of the street. It took a while to get a repair done so that water would drain quickly in front of my house.

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #150 Let’s Get Wild

For this week’s Lens-Artists Photography Challenge, let’s get wild! Dianne is talking about Mother Nature untouched and untrammelled, allowed to get on with her work without human help or hindrance.

Looking through my images I am more inclined to capture images with human interactions. My travels haven’t taken me far from home.

Squirrels take up residence in the trees.

I did manage to take a trip to the Island of Kauai with some of my photo friends.

Sorry, this wild blog may seem a bit scattered. My very special doodle, Charlie is in the hospital. His liver is not working to its best. The doctors are trying to figure this out. HIs numbers are quite unexpected for a such a young dog. Think good thoughts that Charlie will be home with me soon. We have never been apart.

Continuing up the California Coast

Leaving the Elephant Seal Rookery we drive up the coast until we reach the Big Sur closure. After massive storms in March 2017 Hwy 1 was cut off between Cambria and Big Sur. Big construction trucks pass us going south on Highway 1. Cal Trans has been busy working to reconnect north and south. I spoke to this employee and work is ahead of schedule. Opening may be in July.
